Overview:

Antigua and Barbuda is an independent Commonwealth State in the Eastern Caribbean. With some 365 beaches of clean turquoise waters, the lush tropical islands of Antigua and Barbuda are an inviting paradise and considered to be one of the most beautiful places in the world. As a result, tourism is the key driver of Gross Domestic Product (GDP) and generates around 60% of the island’s income, with key target markets being the US, Canada and Europe. Antigua and Barbuda is a member of the United Nations, the British Commonwealth, Caricom and the Organization of American States (OAS) among many other international organizations.

Holders of the Antigua and Barbuda passport enjoy visa free travel to over 165 countries, including the United Kingdom, the Schengen zone, Hong Kong, Russia, India, Qatar and many more. Antigua is in discussions with the UAE, Canada, Australia, New Zealand and China to allow visa-free access to those countries as well.

The Citizenship by Investment Unit (CIU) is the Government authority responsible for processing all applications for Citizenship by Investment submitted by the investors and their families.

Requirements

  • The principal applicant must be at least 18 years old
  • Applicants must choose one of the following investment options: 
    • US$ 100,000 (for family of 4 or less) or US$ 125,000 (for family of 5 or more) non-refundable contribution to the National Development Fund (NDF)
    • Minimum USD $200,000 in a Government-approved real estate project (held for at least 5 years) 
    • US$ 150,000 non-refundable contribution to the University of the West Indies (UWI). This option is only available for families of 6 persons or more, and entitles one member of the family to a one-year scholarship at the UWI
  • To qualify as dependent:
    • Children must be under the age of 18 
    • If children are aged 18 to 28, they must be full-time students, unmarried and dependent financially on their parents
    • Parents or grandparents of the principal applicant or spouse may qualify as dependents if they are above 58 years of age and living with the principal applicant. 
  • Applicants must undergo a medical examination, due diligence verification, and have no criminal record. 
  • Applicants over 18 years of age must spend at least 5 days in Antigua and Barbuda in the 5 years following the citizenship issuance date.
  • Government fee of US$ 30,000 for family of 4 persons (NDF and Real Estate only)
  • Government passport fee of US$ 300 per person 
  • Additional government Due Diligence fee as follows: 
    • Principal Applicant: $7,500
    • Spouse: $7,500
    • Child – 0-11: $0
    • Child – 12-17: $2,000
    • Child – 18-28: $4,000
    • Parent/Grand-parent (+58): $4,000
